Home-Start
Central Lancashire (the family support charity) held a special Thank you Day
for their Volunteers recently at David Lloyd Leisure Centre during National
Volunteers Week as a thank you for their time and commitment in supporting
families. The Volunteers enjoyed a
session on “Caring for the Helper” followed by lunch and time to chat to Home-Start
Staff and Volunteers. All Volunteers who
attended received a certificate and a gift of a “Gratitude Book”
Friends for You
Friends for You is a new initiative backed by Chorley Council, Chorley Faith and Community Volunteering sector, Chorley Community Housing, AgeUK in Chorley and Lancashire College in Chorley.
Friends for You is a befriending scheme in which anyone living alone is eligible to be visited for an hour a week for as long as they need a visitor.
Thank you that you have been displaying the Friends For You poster asking for volunteers. We now have 14 volunteers to start the scheme.
