Young People Head To Birmingham

On Friday 2 October 2026, 20 young people from our circuit travelled to Birmingham to attend 3Generate, the Methodist Children and Youth Assembly. They joined over 1800 other young people from across the nation, sharing worship, discussion and fellowship.

After settling into their campsite, the group attended the first of three worship sessions. These gatherings featured music and song as well as allowing for time of prayer and reflection. We were also introduced to the new On The Way course, designed for anyone wanting to “begin, refresh or reconstruct a journey with God.” These sessions provided a welcome opportunity to pause and reconnect amid a busy and activity-filled weekend.

Over the course of the weekend there was plenty to keep everyone entertained. A wide range of activities were available, including creative workshops such as clay modelling and record spray painting, film screenings and live performances. As well as sporting opportunities and rock climbing for the more adventurous! There were also innovative worship experiences, including worship within an inflatable church and The Bible According to Disney. Young people also engaged in meaningful discussions on topics within the “Town Hall” on subjects such as social media, disability rights and social justice.

The weekend was a memorable and rewarding experience, providing an excellent opportunity for young people and leaders from across the circuit to build friendships, strengthen their faith and spend time together. We returned home tired but grateful for all we had shared and already looking forward to next year!

A big thank you to all who helped make this weekend a huge success.
