February News 🌺

With February now here, days are getting warmer and just a little bit lighter. Whether you're a long-time supporter or recently just connected with us- thanks for being a part of what we do. On Monday Gratitude Week began, where we thanked our supporters for enabling us to make a difference in young people's lives. In 2021/22 our supporters enabled us to help 671,275 children and families.

Here at Action for Children we're busy continuing our mission into the new year and with it comes new talking points to share.

Social Care Review

Today the government published a new strategy for children's social care which Action for Children has been closely involved with. We hope this change will start to rebalance children’s social care away from costly crisis intervention to more meaningful and effective help for families.

Arjan looking at the camera

Last winter, Arjan's mother, who is an NHS key worker, was struggling to juggle her job and take care of her children. Making ends meet and affording the essentials became a tedious task. After Action for Children provided support, Arjan and his family were provided with food, nappies and clothing. Arjan's mother Ram said "Action for Children have offered us so much support and always do their best to help."

Because of supporters like you we were able to help Arjan and other young people. Please consider helping us continue our work.

Did you know the word February came from the Roman word februa which means "to cleanse"?
