Caring for people around us, globally

The Methodist Way of Life commitment for Learning and Caring includes that we will care for ourselves and people around us. And as we are part of a global Methodist community, this particular commitment tasks us with caring for people around us, globally.

This newsletter highlights all the ways in which our global relationships are building God's kingdom and supporting people, globally, in their mission and ministry to respond to the gospel of God's love in Christ.

Love One Another is the focus for the new Rainbow magazine and JMA Commissioning Service, inspired by the theme of the Methodist Prayer Handbook 2022/2023: The Greatest Commandment. The JMA Commissioning Service can be used throughout the year.

By now you should have received copies of your Rainbow magazinesDownloadable versions are available on the Methodist Church website. You can order hardcopies of the Rainbow magazine from Methodist Publishing.

JMA resources are also available to download. You can order hardcopy resources from Methodist Publishing.

Barry Sloan is the Partnership Coordinator for Europe, and Mission Partner in Germany. Barry has made a powerful video about his work.

Watch the video about Barry's trips to Lampedusa, a tiny Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea, where we get to see the work of Mediterranean Hope, a faith-based organisation that works with and for refugees and migrants. Barry helps us explore the complex narrative around refugees coming to Europe.

What is a Mission Partner?
A mission partner is someone who feels called by God to serve in another part of the world church. Mission Partners are financed by your kind donations to the World Mission Fund.

Looking for more World Mission Fund stories and information? You can use this downloadable PDF (taken from the Global Relationships worship resources) and stories can also be found in the new Rainbow magazine, autumn 2022 edition.
